Selection process:
Selection Process for Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES):
(a) Shortlisting of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist application and to fix cutoff percentage of marks without assigning any reason After shortlisting of candidates, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email. After allotment of Selection Centre, firm SSB dates will be allotted to the candidates.
(b) Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will undergo SSB at one of the Selection Centres i.e, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard.
(c) Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days and details of the same are available at the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued Joining Letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria. In the eventuality of being recommended by SSB, candidate should have no objection for undergoing medical examination by board of Male/Female doctors.

(f) The finally selected candidates will execute all the Bonds/Certificates as prescribed for the Cadets of NDA entry under AI 53/78.

i) Phase-1 Training is also known as the Pre-Commission Training. This training carries out for three years. Phase-1 training is
conducted at CME, Pune (Maharashtra) or MCTE, Mho (Madhya Pradesh) or MCEME, Secunderabad (Telangana).

Phase-2 Training:
i) Phase-2 Training is also known as the Post-Commission Training. This training carries out for one year. Phase-2 training is conducted at MCTE, Mho (Madhya Pradesh) or MCEME, Secunderabad (Telangana)
ii) There are total eight semesters in aggregate of two phases and candidates are required to qualify all semesters. After the successful completion of training, candidates are awarded the engineering degree.
iii) Candidates awarded the Engineering degree are awarded Permanent Commission in Army Engineering Core to start as Lieutenant. Two years after the joining as Lieutenant,officers are promoted to Captain and on higher ranks in subsequent years.
Salary and Allowance for Indian Army Technical Entry Scheme (TES):
A candidate gets Rs. 8785/- per week stipend during his training at Officers Training Academy, Gaya and Cadet Training Wing. After the completion of Training and getting Permanent Commission, officers on Lieutenant rank gets salary as per the Level-10 of the Seventh Pay Commission i.e. Rs.56,000/- to Rs. 1,77,500/- per month as their basic pay. Apart from that Officers are also given many allowances and benefits, e.g. Military Service Pay, Qualification Grant, Flying Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance, High Altitude Allowance, Siachen Allowance, Uniform Allowance, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Free Ration, Medical Facilities, etc.
Documents Needed to Bring During TES SSB Interview:
According to the official notification, candidates need to bring the photocopies of the following documents when called for the SSB interview. Candidates can go through the list of the prescribed documents just in case not to forget any important documents needed at that time:
- One printout of the self attested application form.
- Class 10th certificate / mark sheet in original showing DOB.
- Class 12th certificate / mark sheet in original.
- ID proof in original.
- 20 copies of self attested PP size photograph will also be carried along with the Application Form.
Note: Two self attested photocopies of the certificates mentioned will be submitted at the time of SSB interview and originals will be returned after verification at the SSB itself.
