Eligibility Criteria
BSF Head Constable (Ministerial)
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 Intermediate Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.
Head Constable (Radio Operator)
- Candidates should have passed Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Two years ITI Certificate in Radio and Television/ Electronics/ Computer & Programming Assistant/ Data Preparation & Software/ General Electronics/ Data Operator from a recognized Institute. OR
- Candidates should have passed 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with aggregate 60% marks in PCM subjects.
Head Constable (Radio Mechanic)
- Candidates should have passed matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.
- Two years ITI Certificate in Radio and Television/ Electronics/ Computer & Programming Assistant/ Data Preparation & Software/ Electrician/ Fitter/ OR
- Information Technology & Electronics System Maintenance/ General Equipment Maintenance/ Computer Hardware/ Network Technician/ Mechatronics/ Data Entry Operator from a recognized institution. OR
- Candidates should have passed Intermediate or 12th or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with aggregate 60% marks in PCM subjects.
BSF ASI (Stenographer)
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 Intermediate Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Shorthand @ 80 words per minute in English OR in Hindi in 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes OR in Hindi in 65 minutes, on computer.

Qualifying Marks
- Unreserved/EWS category – 35%
- OBC/SC/ST categories – 33%
Document Verification
- Candidates successfully clearing the PET will require to undergo a Document Verification process to further into the selection process.
Trade Test
- The Trade Test will test the Candidate on the trade specific knowledge of the post he or she has applied for.
Written Test
The written exam will be same for all the posts, it will focus on examining the aptitude of the candidate. Below is the BSF Tradesman Written Exam Pattern.
Medical Examination
- This is the final step of the selection process, Candidates will be examined on the prescribed bases for physical and mental well being.
